Haus der Geschichte / Museum Niederösterreich
The permanent exhibition in the „Haus der Geschichte“ in St. Pölten presents the history of Lower Austria in both its Austrian and Central European context, from the first human settlements up to the present day.
Rather than a strict chronological reeling of history, the exhibit is structured along thematic, longitudinal sections. Their aim is to provide an opportunity to engage in detail with specific historical aspects and to extensively examine these for any discontinuities and contradictions. Numbered and illuminated pylons, that work as entry points into specific topics areas, make it easy to select your own route. Interactive stations and embedded forums offer opportunities for immersion and topical debates.
